Matthew J. Mawhinney is the owner of Delta Gunite & Shotcrete and a construction professional with more than 35 years of hands-on experience in the gunite and shotcrete industry. His background includes residential,

commercial, municipal, hospitality, and heavy civil work, with experience in swimming pool shells, structural

shotcrete, soil nail walls, rehabilitation work, field operations, quality evaluation, and construction defect

matters. His operations have placed approximately 45,000 to 70,000 cubic yards of gunite and shotcrete

annually

Owner, Delta Gunite & Shotcrete

Owner-operator with extensive field and management experience spanning every phase of gunite and

shotcrete operations. Experience includes working directly on crews, managing large-volume placement,

coordinating with pool builders and general contractors, supervising field execution, and assisting with

construction defect evaluations. Has operated a successful gunite and shotcrete business for approximately 15

years.

• Hospitality / Resort: Hard Rock Hotel; Virgin Hotels Las Vegas / Casino; Bellagio; New York-New York;

Park MGM; Luxor.

• Transportation / Heavy Civil: Numerous Nevada DOT projects, including soil nail wall shotcrete work;

more than 3,500 cubic yards placed for soil nailing wall applications.

• Higher Education: Load-bearing wall work for UNLV dormitory facilities and parking garages.

• Water Infrastructure: Water treatment plant tank restoration / rehabilitation work for the Southern Nevada

Water Authority.

• Public Facilities: Wall rehabilitation work at the Clark County Jail.

• Residential: Numerous swimming pool projects ranging from production work to complex, high-end custom pools.

Experience assisting with evaluation of construction defects and field conditions involving gunite, shotcrete,
